Undergraduate students pushed research boundaries this summer and made new discoveries in oral health. As part of the MOST Summer Program (Multidisciplinary Oral Health Training), students conducted research projects in the laboratories of mentor faculty. The program is funded by the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research.
Participants hailed from a wide array of universities including UIC, UIUC, Northwestern, University of Chicago, Knox College, Clark Atanta University and Duke University. Mentor faculty offered research experiences in the colleges of Dentistry, Pharmacy and Applied Health Sciences. After a summer of research, students will prepare their findings for presentations to the larger research community.
The MOST Summer program is a 12 week program offered every summer for undergraduate students. Applications for 2013 will be available in fall 2012. Interested candidates should visit the MOST website, http://most.uic.edu for further information.
